In addition to utilizing analag and digital phone lines from a traditional phone
company, Allworx can place calls over the Internet by utilizing Voice over Internet
Protocal (VoIP) technology. This technilogy significantly reduces the monthly and
per minute costs of long distance and toll-free calls. Internet calling can reduce
telecom costs by as much as 70-80%.
Allworx can seamlessly connect up to 100 sites together into a single phone system.
If your company has multiple locations, you can connect these sites together over
a secure internet connection. Placing a call to a person at another site is as simple
as dialing a 3 digit extension. Best of all, Site-to-site calls are free!
Telecommuters can now work from home and utilize all the features and benifits of
the Allworx phone system -- all that is required is an Allworx phone and a broadband
internet connection. Any Allworx phone can be taken home, to tradeshow, or hotel
and it works exactly as it does at the office -- it is just another extension on
the corporate phone system.
In-bound calls can be directed to a queue. Multiple phones can be assigned to queues.
Callers placed in a queue are notified of their place in the queue and then hear
on-hold music. Periodically the caller is notified of their current position in
the queue. Call queues make it possible for your staff to efficiently handle multiple
calls.
Like Call Queues, a caller can be forwarded to a Call Group (selected group of phones).
The group of phones ring until someone answers one of the phones in the group. For
example, a Parts counter would be good place to setup a Call Group.
Whether you want to have a live person answer your calls, or have calls answered
by an auto attendant, Allworx has the flexibility to utilize both approches simultaneously.
For example, if your receptionist is away, Allworx will direct in-bound calls to
a default auto attendant when callers are given up to 64 different options to choose
from.
Callers can find a listing of people and their extensions by accessing the Company
Directory. This feature enables a caller to find a person by typing the first part
of the first or last name, or by playing a complete listing of all people in the
directory. You can limit the scope of a directory listing. By selecting "Accounting"
from an auto Attendant, you can limit the people listed by the directory.
Traditional phones can forward calls to voicemail, or perhaps to another extension.
The Follow-Me Anywhere Calling feature enables calls to be forwarded to anywhere
-- a cell phone, hotel, or home office. The person being called has the option to
"accept" or "reject" a call. If the call is unanswered, or rejected the call can
be forwarded to another extension or voicemail.
Support for 8 party conference calls is built into every Allwox phone system. This
feature enables authorized users to schedule conference calls. To join a conference
call, the caller is required to enter a Conference ID and Password. The person who
scheduled the conference call becomes the moderator of the conference.
Allworx supports having a second language in addition to US English for audio prompts
heard by users of the system. The system can be configured to play one lanage in
particular circumstances and a different language in others. Callers can be permitted
to switch between the two languages.
Access to outside lines is available to authorized users. This feature allows users
to utilize the company's lines and caller ID while at remote locations. For example,
if a salesperson needs to make an international call from their cell phone, they
can call into their Allworx system and utilize the company's phone lines to place
the call.
Allworx can send SMS messages to cell phones and/or email addresses when a voice
message has been left in a specified voicemail inbox. These mesages alerts are sent
repeatedly until the voicemail message has been retrieved. Recipients are organized
into levels so that after a number of message alerts are sent at one level, the
alerts are sent to recipients at the next highest level.
Allworx can place calls directly from within Microsoft Outlook. By installing the
Allworx TAPI software, users can place a call simply clicking on a user in their
Outlook "Contacts" list.
You can configure Allworx to display ("pop") a contact in Microsoft Outlook automatically
when an inbound call is received (based on the caller ID). This feature puts your
customer's information at the finger tips of your staff immediately.
You can use an Allworx phone just as you would a traditional phone, or you can link
your phone to your computer. With the Allworx Call Assistant software you get a
drag-and-drop interface where calls are transferred simply by draging a call and
droping it over the name of a person. With this software you can monitor the status
of queues, call groups, parked callers, call history, and much more.
The "Presense" feature, enables you to indicate whether you are "In Office", "On
Vacation", "In a meeting", etc. By selecting a presense, you notifiy users of the
Allworx Call Assistant software of your current status. In addition, you can specify
how in-bound calls to your extension are handled. For example, if you are "On Vacation"
you may want your calls forwarded to your backup. If you are "In A Meeting" you
might forward your calls to voicemail. If you are "At Home" you might want your
calls forwarded first to your home phone, then your cell phone, and finally to your
voicemail.
Allworx's Maintenance plan is unique in the industry -- because it's free. Unlike
other phone system manufacturers who charge thousands of dollars each year for maintnenace,
Allworx provides all updates to the system for free for the life of the system.
In addition, many new features are included as part of the free maintenance.
Allworx provides predefined call reports listing all calls and include information
including the numbers called, who placed or received the call, the duration of the
call, etc. You can also create custom reports. With call reports you can monitor
and analize calling patters to help determine staffing needs.
Utilizing the Allworx Call Assistant software you can record your calls. These recordings
can be saved and/or distributed to others as a WAV file through email.
Allworx supports "Soft Phones". A soft phone is software you load onto your laptop.
The software emulates a traditional phone and lets your laptop function as a phone.
All you need is a broadband internet connection and a microphone. Many laptops have
a microphone built-in to the frame of the screen. A soft phone elimiates the need
to carry a phone, and like a remote phone, supports all of the Allworx phone features.
As you might expect, Allworx supports built-in voicemail. The term "Unified Messaging"
refers to the ability to collect all your communications into a single location.
For example, with Allworx you can forward your voicemail to your email server. Voicemail
becomes just another email in your Micorosft Outlook mailbox. To hear your voicemail,
simply click on the attached WAV file and the foicemail is played through your PC's
speakers. When you have a voicemail, the "Messages" button on your Allworx phone
is lit. You can also access your voicemail remotely by calling the Allworx system
and providing your password.
Callers placed on hold or waiting in a queue can hear music or any message you choose
to play. For example, the source of on-hold music could be a custom advertisement
burned to a CD or MP3 player.
True to it's name, an Allwox phone system provides everything needed to setup a
small business. The Allworx phone system is several servers in one. With Allworx
you can host your own POP3 Mail server, host your own web site with the builtin
web server, provide secure remote access to your internal network with the provided
VPN server, and share calendars with your staff with the shared calendar server.
Paging can be implimented through the built-in speakers in each Allworx phone, or
by utilizing traditional over-head paging equipment.
Support for wireless phones makes it possible for staff to be moble. For example,
warehouse workers are regularly moving around the warehouse. Allworx supports any
wireless phone that conforms to the SIP2 standard. Many WiFi phones have problems
with interferrence, and when moving from one access point to another. This is primarily
because WiFi was not designed to support voice calls. Allworx supports SIP/DEC phones.
This protocol was designed specifically for wireless voice communications, is independent
of WiFi, and addresses the problems associated with interferrence and roaming.
